Club Med had already asked Altima° to redesign their homepage in 2015. That led to the bigger job: a full responsive redesign of the site, starting with the resort detail page and the booking engine.
The existing site had grown into a large set of unrelated templates, with no real sense of components or modularity. The first goal was to simplify that structure and give it a system it never had.
The second was tonal: lift the look and feel to attract higher-end travelers without losing the accessible, all-inclusive family approach Club Med is known for. We leaned on immersive photography and placed the right content at the right moments to hold both audiences at once.
It came with heavy technical constraints, so it took a lot of iteration to land the right experience. It was also my first time in an agile process, which made building something this big, with no styleguide in place from the start, genuinely hard.
